Trauma can affect much more than memory.
It may affect your relationships, sleep, confidence, ability to trust, emotional reactions, sense of safety, and even the way your body responds to ordinary situations.
I work with adults who have experienced childhood trauma, sexual abuse, relationship trauma, traumatic events, chronic emotional stress, and other experiences that continue to affect their lives.
Treatment may incorporate trauma-focused therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy when appropriate.
Anxiety can make it difficult to ever feel completely at rest.
You may overthink conversations, anticipate what could go wrong, constantly second-guess yourself, experience physical symptoms of anxiety, or feel as though your mind never shuts off.
Therapy can help you better understand these patterns, learn practical strategies for regulating anxiety, challenge unhelpful thinking, and address experiences that may be contributing to your nervous system remaining on high alert.
Grief is not limited to death.
We can grieve people, relationships, marriages, health, jobs, homes, identities, expectations, and futures we thought we would have.
My previous work in hospital and hospice settings included extensive experience supporting people through death, bereavement, serious illness, and major life transitions.
In therapy, you do not have to grieve according to someone else's timeline.
We can make space for both what you lost and the life that still exists around that loss.
Betrayal can affect far more than your relationship.
It may make you question your judgment, identity, worth, memories, safety, and ability to trust.
Therapy can provide a place to process anger, grief, confusion, fear, and the difficult questions that often follow betrayal.
The goal is not for me to tell you whether to stay, leave, forgive, reconcile, or move on.
The goal is to help you understand what you are experiencing so that your decisions can come from clarity rather than fear.
I also work with adults navigating breakups, divorce, abandonment, boundaries, codependency, difficult family relationships, and unhealthy relational patterns.
Faith doesn't have to be left outside the therapy room.
For clients who desire it, I offer Christian counseling that integrates evidence-based mental health treatment with the client's Christian faith.
For some people, faith is central to how they understand themselves, their relationships, suffering, forgiveness, purpose, and healing.
You are welcome to bring that part of yourself into therapy.
Depending on your preferences, our conversations may include Scripture, prayer, spiritual identity, forgiveness, discernment, church experiences, relationship with God, questions about faith, or other spiritual concerns.
